Day 30: Everything is Different
C.S Lewis once said, “isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different", and it's so true. Not sure if it's full-time job syndrome or just life in general, but there are often days and weeks that you wish away with the thoughts of "I can't wait for this day/week/month" to be over.
We know that time is limited, but we treat our days as though we will live forever. We waste our days doing things we dislike with people we don't like, in the hopes for a better tomorrow. Sitting at a desk for nine hours starting a screen, wishing for it to be the weekend. Is that really what life is about?
If someone in your life makes you unhappy, change it. If you want to travel, then travel. If you want to sing, then sing. Do one thing a day that scares you because this may be your last day. I keep saying I should call my grandma and I still haven't. We age and our parents age. Time keeps going, we keep changing and yet we pretend we're the same 18 year old kid. But no, now we have a job and bills and we're constantly "busy". Busy doing what? The busiest people in the world make time for things that are meaningful to them.
Take care of yourself.
