Day 31: Bell Let's Talk Day
What makes you wake up everyday? Is it that morning coffee? Is it seeing your partner/kids/pets? What do you think about before you go to bed? Are you grateful? Are you holding a grudge against someone? Are you thinking about how productive you will be tomorrow?
Our thoughts definitely impact our life, and positivity always wins. I've had a couple of really hard few weeks and sometimes find it hard to put a smile on my face. Today is Bell's Let's Talk day which is a great opportunity to be open about how we are all feeling in this fast-paced world.
I like to keep these thoughts to myself because I don't like feeling vulnerable. There's only a few people who I share my true feelings with and one of them is my partner. I've opened up to a few people and they ended up hurting me, so now I am trying this new approach.
What do you do when you're feeling down? Who do you talk to? Who actually listens? It's a certain type of hearing that has to be done when someone is telling you about their problems - you can't just start talking about how you're struggling too or just brush it off. It takes a lot of courage for someone to break free and be completely honest with you about what they're going through and it's important that you listen.
I often find that I compare myself to others around me - when I shouldn't be doing that. How can I compare myself to someone twenty years older than me? Or someone on Instagram? The grass is always greener on the other side. While you might be going through a hard time, there's always someone who has it a lot worse than you. Be kind to everyone you meet.
