Day 39: Connecting with Characters

Day 39: Connecting with Characters

I finally watched the Super Bowl episode of This is Us and knew that I had to talk about it (much like everyone else). Even though I knew from the beginning that Jack would die, I still found myself crying throughout the whole episode. The raw emotions from the Pearson family during the fire and after made you connect with them on a much deeper level.

You felt both the guilt of Kate and the pressure of Rebecca to be strong. You saw how a family was torn apart in a matter of seconds.

This episode made me feel very grateful for everything that I have. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day that we forget the bigger picture in life. It’s not about material objects.

A friend of mine, Y, recently lost her home due to a fire. I can’t even imagine what she went through. She’s so brave to be smiling through it. Thank God they survived the fire. Everything else can be replaced.

Be grateful for the home over your head and the food on your table. We take these things for granted as we are too busy thinking about the iPhone X.
